Seventh Coast Guard District chief of staff, Capt. Richard Kenin presented the coveted Silver Lifesaving Medal award to Petty Officer 3rd Class John Rivera for the rescue of R&B artist Sean Kingston after his accident on a personal water craft on Memorial Day weekend, 2011. Rivera was off duty and on his personal boat near Miami Beach’s Star Island bridge and saw Kingston go under water after he struck a bridge on his personal watercraft. Rivera immediately jumped in and kept him afloat until additional help arrived. He was honored by colleagues during a ceremony at Coast Guard Air Station Miami.

Russell Brand to Katy Perry: I Don't Want Your Money

Russell Brand is entitled to approximately $20 million of Katy Perry's fortune ... but TMZ has learned he will not take a single penny of it.

Russell's lawyer filed final divorce papers Tuesday ... although the judge will make the divorce official on June 30, because there's a 6 month waiting period.

Informed sources tell TMZ ... Russell and Katy did NOT have a prenup. As a result, everything they earned during their 14-month marriage is community property -- which means they're each entitled to 50% of the pot.

Katy made $44 million between May, 2010 and May, 2011 -- according to Forbes. The couple married in October, 2010, so Russell could have scored a fortune if he exercised his community property rights. 

But here's the deal. As one source put it, "This divorce is as amicable as it gets, and Russell was a mensch (Yiddish for a good person)." He doesn't want Katy's money. He's happy to walk away with the money he earned -- which is far less than what Katy raked in.

Beyoncé Was Not Offered $100 Million X-Factor Contract

The rumor seemed ridiculous when it first surfaced, but Simon Cowell has now officially confirmed that Beyoncé was never offered a contract valued at $100 million to join him as a judge on FOX’s The X Factor. Speaking with Extra, Cowell dismissed the speculation, explaining, “No, I have no idea where this rumor came from. I read it online that I had offered her $100 million/year. It’s complete nonsense. The budget of the show is $100 million. No one’s gonna pay $100 million/year for someone.”
Those hoping for another high profile diva – Mariah Carey – becoming a judge can give up on that hope, too. Cowell added: “Just to put it out there, she will not be on the list. I adore her, I would love her, but you can’t expect someone who’s just had two kids, who’s got a record career, to make the kind of commitment we would need on this show.”

Is Anybody Gonna Check Tom Cruise’s Kid For His Post Superbowl “Homophobic” Twitter Rant?

They came at Roland Martin’s neck over his tweets, but is anybody gonna say anything to this son of a “Top Gun” for his “gay” comments?

Connor Cruise — a die-hard Patriots fan and the DJ son of Tom Cruise — lashed out at one of his reps, Todd Krim, who tweeted after the game, “Sorry @TheConnorCruise maybe next year!!!”

According to an e-mail forwarded to publicists by Krim, Cruise, 17, texted him back, saying, “That was a gay ass [bleeping] tweet . . . U don’t say [bleep] like that about my team the second they lose. Low.”

When Krim — who heads entertainment/ charity Web site Give Back Hollywood and helped book DJ gigs for Cruise — wrote back, “Umm ok . . . Dude I was [bleeping] joking,” Cruise responded, “That was [bleeped]” and “Idgaf” (“I don’t give a [bleep]).”

Cruise and Krim were both in Indy where Cruise DJed DirecTV’s Saturday night party. Krim says the Twitter tantrum ended their professional relations, while sources close to Cruise say they’d parted ways weeks ago.

On Monday, Krim e-mailed colleagues with a screen grab of Cruise’s texts, saying, 😉“I am no longer working with Connor Cruise. In fact, I am no longer speaking with [him] . . . I refuse to be professionally (or even personally) associated with someone that engages in this sort of behavior . . . I just thought you should know who and what you’re dealing with.”

He called Cruise’s comments, “highly offensive and what I consider homophobic . . . after I jokingly tweeted about the Patriots losing.”

Krim told us, “I did a lot for [Connor], and he was less than respectful and appreciative . . . I made a joke, and let’s just say his reaction was not what I expected. It’s disappointing when you think someone is one way and they turn out to be another.”

Cruise told Page Six through his rep: “What I texted was unacceptable. It is not a reflection of who I am and what I feel, and it certainly won’t happen again.”

Will Facebook’s “Money Making” Mark Zuckerberg Have To Pay $2 BILLION Tax Bill?!?

Facebook’s 2012 tax bill could be one for the record books:

Facebook’s upcoming IPO will make founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg a billionaire — but it will also stick him with an eye-popping tax bill that could reach as high as $2 billion. Industry experts say that might be one for the record books.

I personally have never seen a bill into the billions — close, but not quite,” said Anthony Nitti, a Colorado-based CPA and partner with Withum, Smith and Brown. “I talked to a few buddies of mine at the Big Four accounting firms, and it’s something not many people have seen.”

The giant tax hit is a consequence of Zuckerberg’s plan to exercise stock options worth billions. The move will significantly increase his ownership stake in the company he founded eight years ago.

Zuckerberg currently owns almost 414 million shares of Facebook, but he also holds options to buy another 120 million shares at the bargain price of 6 cents a piece. Facebook said in its IPO paperwork that Zuckerberg plans to exercise those options and will sell some of his shares during Facebook’s initial offering to cover the tax bill.

CNN Suspends Roland Martin For Homophobic Tweet

Roland Martin send some homophobic tweets during the Super Bowl and CNN dropped the hammer.

Here’s the word from CNN: “Roland Martin’s tweets were regrettable and offensive. Language that demeans is inconsistent with the values and culture of our organization, and is not tolerated. We have been giving careful consideration to this matter, and Roland will not be appearing on our air for the time being.”
Martin sent out tweets about smacking any guy that would pose in an underwear ad like David Beckham and made fun of a Patriot that wore a pink jumpsuit.
“Who the hell was that New England Patriot they just showed in a head to toe pink suit? Oh, he needs a visit from #teamwhipdatass”
GLAAD saw that as promoting anti-gay violence. CNN apparently acquiesced and handed Roland his suspension. You better watch what you tweet

50 Cent Travels To Africa To Help End Famine In Somalia

Rapper 50 Cent is teaming up with the World Food Program to see firsthand the effects of hunger in Somalia and Kenya. The rap star flew to Dolo, Somalia on Wednesday. Tens of thousands of women and children have fled there over the last year to flee a devastating famine that killed tens of thousands of people across Somalia. WFP said the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, has committed to provide 1 billion meals for the hungry, and is donating to WFP 10 cents from every sale of a new energy drink called Street King that he is promoting.
The U.N. last week declared an end to Somalia’s six-month famine, though it said tens of thousands of people still need food aid to survive. The British government estimates that between 50,000 and 100,000 people died from the famine’s effects.

Ne-Yo’s Baby Mama “Make It Rain” Monyetta Shaw Breaks Record And Adopts 48 African Children!!

We didn’t think it was possible — but Ne-Yo’s baby mama just broke the African-child-adopting records set by Madonna AND Angelina Jolie … combined … agreeing to adopt 48 children in Swaziland.

Full disclosure — Monyetta Shaw’s not actually taking 48 children back to the United States with her … but she did agree to pay for their living costs for an entire year … a nearly $20,000 commitment.

Sources tell TMZ, “Football Wives” star Chanita Foster (below) — who founded a charity called Beyond the Game to provide children in Swaziland with food, clothes, and education — got in touch with Monyetta about sponsoring a child or two … and Monyetta agreed.

But we’re told, once Monyetta saw the 48 young faces in the charity’s brochure — she fell in love … and insisted on adopting all of them.

Each kid costs roughly $30 a month — and Monyetta adopted 48 for an entire year … which means she’s in for $17,280. Not bad.

Amar’e Stoudemire’s Brother Dies in Crash

It’s a sad day for New York Knicks center Amar’e Stoudemire after he learned that his older brother Hazell died this morning. According to reports, Hazell Stoudemire was involved in a car accident in Florida on Route 27, and officers say that he was speeding before he crashed into a tractor trailer and died at the scene.

The police also say that Hazell wasn’t wearing a seat belt but they are still investigating whether or not the 35-year-old was intoxicated at the time.

Ciara, who dated Amar’e early last year, tweeted her condolences to his family:

“So sad to hear the news about Hazel. That guy was an awesome person with so much personality. May he RIP, my prayers go out to his family”

Amar’e has made his way back to Lakeland, Florida to be with his family and will miss today’s Knicks game against the Utah Jazz. Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni sent his condolences to their star player and said the team doesn’t know how long Amar’e will be gone.

“Our thoughts and prayers and everything’s with him, and whatever time he needs to take, he’ll take, and then we’ll get him back as soon as possible.”

If you thought Cassie and Diddy were over after she skipped out on his Miami New Years bash followed by rumors of Diddy creeping around with actress Cameron Diaz, think again.  The two were spotted having a good time in Miami recently while celebrating Rick Ross’ 36th birthday at Amnesia.  Cassie was even spotted wearing a huge diamond ring on her finger which fueled rumors that they may be engaged.  Back in September, Diddy openly tweeted ‘Will You Marry Me’, but considering his track record, no one really took him serious.  Did he finally decide he wanted to settle down and put a ring on it?

Meagan Good, Vanessa Simmons, Hosea Chanchez, Letoya Luckett & More Attend Dysfunctional Friends Premiere

Last night the sexiest cast in Hollywood came out for the premiere of Corey Grants “Dysfunctional Friends”. This Indie dramedy had an all-star line up of actors from your favorite shows and movies, both old and new. Stacey Dash, Meagan Good, Hosea Chanchez, Tatyana Ali, Persia White, just to name a few, were all thrown together to make this hilarious film come to life.

The movie’s premise is based around the sudden death of a man named Dennis, who leaves the worth of his million-dollar estate to his closest friends from college, if and only if they can stay together in his house for one week. The catch is that no one can leave or the will is void and nobody will get their share.

NFL superstar Terrell Owens made his first big screen appearance in the movie playing a character that was not much of a stretch from his own. “Action Jackson” is a football player who is engaged to the beautiful Lisa (Stacey Dash) but is not ready to settle down just yet.  Reverend Run’s daughter Vanessa Simmons also made her first movie debut, playing a mistress named “Hanna”.

This laugh out loud funny film had the premiere audience entertained from beginning to end. The crowd’s favorite was “Styles“ played by Christian Keyes, whose seemingly natural ability to perform and comedic timing proved he isn’t just all good looks.

Last night, T.I. was all smiles as he celebrated the launch of his new collection of Akoo at Reign in Atlanta.

The show was hosted by funny man Kevin Hart, who cracked jokes before models worked T.I.’s new clothing down the runway. Celebrity guests Keri Hilson, Kaleena of Dirty Money, Cynthia Bailey of RHOA, Darius McCray, Kim Porter and more sat side-stage while enjoying the fashions.

Keri put in some work, though, performing and singing happy birthday to T.I.’s eldest son Domani, who also rapped during the event. It was truly a family affair as the OMG Girlz also performed and it was all caught on film for the finale episode of VH1′s “The Family Hustle.”
