A week after the release of the The Throne's highly anticipated LP Watch The Throne, Cash Money CEOBryan “Birdman” Williams is reporting that his top two artists Lil Wayne and Drake are working on a joint LP as well.

“Wayne and I recently talked about [the Weezy/Drake collabo album],” Birdman reported to xxlmag.com. “That's definitely going to get done.”

Stunna was quick to dead comparisons between The Throne album, noting his twosome's youth as a major difference.

“It's older versus younger,” Baby said. “I listened to a few songs [off Watch The Throne] and it feels like an older feel to me. I think with Drake and Wayne, they young. They young cats. You got 23 and 28. Then you got Jay-Z and them, who are older and really on their way out the game. Then you got Wayne and Drake and them, who are still youthful to the game. So, it's two different types of music all the way across the board.

Despite seemingly taking sly shots at Jigga and Kanye's age, Birdman noted that the duos blueprint was a help to the game.

“But what they're doing is great,” he continued. “I think it's great for the game, great for the business, great for retail as a whole. I just think when Wayne and Drake get together is going to be something real special also because we more youthful.”

Jay-Z And Kanye Open "Watch The Throne" Pop-Up Store

Jay-Z and Kanye West are unveiling a new tactic to get Hip-Hop fans to buy their Watch The Throne album, a pop-up store in the heart of New York City.

Jay and Ye have launched a small store in Manhattan's SoHo section where fans can pick up physical copies of the album slated to have already sold 400-500k digital copies this week.

According to MTV, the store front is wrapped in gold and mimics the album's Riccardo Tisci-designed cover art and even features the tricked-out Maybach from their "Otis" on display inside.

It reportedly closes tonight (Friday , August 12) at 10 p.m. E.T. and opens again Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Drake Dating Serena Williams?

Has Young Money rapper Drake finally moved on from his alleged love affair with Rihanna to a new romance with tennis star (and rapper Common’s ex) Serena Williams? According to, LiveTennisGuide.com the pair have been getting extra cozy over the past few weeks with the most recent rendezvous being last week in South Florida.
Last week, after Drake tweeted to Serena ‘I Can’t Wait To Put It On You And Make You Sweat… during our match this weekend”, the two had some one on one time on the Tennis Court. Days later, Drake was spotted cheering her on as she competed for the 2011 Rogers Cup tournament in Toronto.

Kim Kardashian’s Upcoming Wedding Compared To ‘The Royal Wedding’

 

If you think Khloe Kardashian and Lala had a huge media spectacle of a wedding, you haven’t seen anything yet. Wait until Kim Kardashian shimmies down the aisle.

Kim’s wedding will take place in 8 days (on August 20th) and already her close ones are comparing it to the Royal Wedding. In a recent interview with The Insider, Lala told host Kevin Frazier:

Hers is like the Royal Wedding. Mine was really big and over the top and cool but this is next level

Kim’s sister Khloe has also compared it to the extravagant wedding of The Royals

“And I joke and say it will be like the Royal Wedding because she is just like that.”

When they compare it to The Royal Wedding, they aren’t kidding. Kim’s over the top affair has an estimated price tag of $20 million dollars (according to reports), which is a third of William and Kate’s wedding.  The black tie affair will take place in Montecito, California, near Oprah’s estate and will be broadcast as a 2-part special called “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event.”
Invited guests to the wedding could rival an award show with names like Jay-z and Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Ryan Seacrest, Eva Longoria, Kelly Osbourne, Snooki, Jennifer Lopez and Kanye West receiving an invite.  1,000 people will be there to watch the wedding with millions more tuning in to watch it on E! when it airs on October 9 & 10.

“Everyone, including guests J.Lo and Ryan Seacrest, will park their cars and take fancy shuttle busses up to the venue. They will have to go through metal detectors and will have to hand over their cell phones and any other recording devices. There will be more security devoted to making sure the footage and images from this wedding [are] safe [than] security making sure Kim and her guests are safe.”

Don’t think the Kardashian family is picking up the entire bill. Kris Jenner has been hard at work securing sponsors for the big day.  It is rumored that Kim’s 20.5 carat, $2 million dollar ring was not only given to her by Lorraine Schwartz but she was paid a hefty fee by the company in exchange for the press they would receive once she announced her engagement. PEOPLE magazine is also paying $1 million for exclusive wedding access, in addition to the $300,000 they already paid for her engagement party photos.
Mama Jenner has been taking care of business of her own in an attempt to look good for her daughter’s wedding. While Kim was running around putting the finishing touches on her fairytale wedding, which will include a Vera Wang wedding gown, Kris found time to get a facelift, just in time for the big day.
With all the hoopla surrounding the rushed wedding, you have to wonder if just as much time will be spent on making sure the marriage works.  Lala tells The Insider:

It’s amazing when you see a friend of yours so happy, (she’s one of my best friends) and Kris Humphries is such a great guy. Him and Melo have went way back as well playing basketball as teenagers. So it’s cool to have like that whole connection and just seeing her in love and happy as her friend, that’s all you want for your friend.

We The Best/Def Jam artist Ace Hood visited Bella Nightclub just outside of Atlanta on Wednesday to celebrate the release of his Blood, Sweat & Tears album, which hit stores on Tuesday.

Rappers YC and Webbie, along with ATL's DJ Infamousalso attended Ace Hood's album released party to help congratulate the Florida rapper on his "Hustle Hard" comeback.

HTC Teaming With Beats By Dre

HTC Invests $300 million In Beats By Dr. Dre

Dr. Dre has inked yet another deal that will continue to take attention away from him ever releasing his Detox album.

According to reports, smartphone company HTC is investing $300 million into Dr. Dre and record producer Jimmy Iovine's Beats By Dre.

The Los Angeles Times reports:

The injection of money will give HTC one of the largest stakes in Beats, but the company will remain autonomous from HTC.

Beats also counts Monster Cable as an investor and will still work with other companies such as HP, providing speakers for laptops and tablets, and Chrysler, providing speakers for sedans, said Iovine, who is chairman of Beats and chief executive of Interscope records.

But HTC will have some smartphones with Beats audio included in stores by the end of the year, he said.

"Getting Beats audio into HTC phones is one of the first things we're going to do," Iovine said in an interview.

"We are going to be in business with HTC and they're going to help us and were going to help them in every way they can.

"And you'll see Beats audio in just about every phone or tablet they want it to be in, but they know what we've built and respect the brand and will help us continue to innovate and push Beats further."

With it's new investor, expect Beats By Dre to continue in its quest to be the leader in quality headphone and audio equipment, and in the process, make Dr. Dre even more richer than he already is...which basically means Detox is never coming out (as if it ever really was).

New Video: Kanye West & Jay-Z “Otis”

The Throne aka Jay-Z & Kanye West released the visual for their first single “Otis” today at 8:56 pm on BET, MTV, and Centric. The visual to the video is surprisingly simple, comprising of Jay & Ye in the middle of absolutely nowhere surrounded by a few chicks in a super dope Maybach.

It’s obvious, The Throne is living the “Good Life” but just so you know, the vehicle used in the “Otis” video, will be offered up for auction. Proceeds will be donated towards the East African Drought Disaster.

Meagan Good On Getting Pulled Over By Cops: ‘I Was Not Drunk Driving’

Meagan Good is probably thanking her lucky stars that her father is an LAPD police officer after being pulled over by cops this past weekend.  On Sunday, she celebrated her 30th birthday with a private party in LA and was pulled over by cops shortly after she left the event. According to Meagan, the cops assumed that she had been drinking since she was leaving her own party:

For the record all … I DID NOT get a DUI. I got pulled over because the valet turned my lights off. Once they found out I was leaving my own birthday party, they insisted I must of had at least a drink and expressed they’d feel more comfortable with someone else driving me home.
I definitely wasn’t gonna argue with that because I recognize God’s grace when I see it, and whether I had one drink or five drinks, the law says zero drinks so I’m thanking God I got through my 30th and praising God for the grace only he can give!

Praise him!
