‘Watch The Throne’ Most Important Album In Hip Hop History?

Jay-z and Kanye’s ‘Watch The Throne’ Album is the most important album in Hip Hop history according to Elliot Wilson and the guys over at Respect Magazine. I wouldn’t say that the publication has an invalid argument but it will be interesting to see what ‘proof’ they are serving up when it hits newsstands next month.
Giving credit where credit is due, not only did Janye show fellow artists how to prevent bootlegging of their material in a world of piracy, but they produced a product that transcended across cultural borders. For a Hip Hop album to be #1 in 23 countries and currently the only Hip Hop album charting above the #20 spot in the US says a lot about where Hip Hop stands in the current state of music. At one point Hip Hop dominated the charts, however, years later it was hard to get a hit without a catchy beat and a simple dance to go along with it.
Pick up Respect Magazine featuring ‘The Throne’ on September 6th!

Trey Songz Catches Up With Will Smith @ Angels With Heart Benefit, Speaks On New Movie

Yesterday, Trey Songz took some time out for philanthropy as he hosted the “Angels with Heart” benefit at the Moet Lounge in Miami. Angels with Heart, which is a foundation consisting of members from his Trey Angel’s fan club, encourages it’s members to give back and do service in their communities. Trey’s mother April was there to support and even mogul Will Smith came through.
While at the event, Trey took some time out to chat with World Pop about his upcoming role in “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D,” as well as his decision to appear in a J Cole video during his only two days off.
[In] Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I play the leading male. It’s my first movie for film. I’m very excited about it. It was a great experience. John Luessenhop directed it. He directed “Takers” as well…His first horror film, my first horror film. We had great energy on set. I can’t give away too much because it’s a horror film.
The day that I wrapped the movie set of Texas chainsaw Massacre, we went out to Barbados and shot the video with J.Cole. He called me last minute…he said “man, the record is getting hot. I want you to come to Barbados in like 4 days!” I was like ‘I’m supposed to go home, I got two days off” but I believed in him. I believed in the record.  Futhermore, it was an exceptional time…Rihanna came out, the video is crazy. Shout out to Cliff he did that, it’s gonna be amazing.

Rapper Pitbull Sued By Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan Suing Pitbull

Rapper Pitbull is the subject of a new lawsuit, this time at the hands of Lindsay Lohan who claims he used disparaging lyrics with her name.
According to TMZ, Pitbull's song "Give Me Everything" featuring Neyo and written by songwriter "Afrojack" has a line that says,
"Hustlers move aside, so I'm tiptoein, keep flowin'...I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan."
Obviously offended by the line, Lohan filed suit against the rapper via attorney Stephanie Ovadiclaiming that, "the lyrics, by virtue of its wide appeal, condemnation, excoriation, disparaging or defamatory statements by the defendants about the plaintiff are destined to do irreparable harm to the plaintiff."
Her lawyer also adds that Lohan is a,
"Professional actor of good repute and standing in the Screen Actors Guild, is suing under the New York civil rights laws, which protects people from having their name exploited for commercial purposes."
The suit seeks an injunction to stop all of the defendants from broadcasting the song and unspecified damages.

Birdman Sued For $75,000 After Missed Show

Birdman Sued
Birdman is facing legal action today after a Las Vegas businesswoman claims he missed a scheduled show and scammed her out of thousands.
Billionaire Mafia, a clothing maker, and its founder Lana Fuchs have filed a lawsuit against attorney Philip Brutus and others including Bryan "Birdman" Williams, in Clark County Court.
According to Fachs, Brutus claimed to represent the rapper and charged her $50,000 to schedule him for an appearance.
She says however that she later discovered Birdman's booking fee was only $35,000 and the rapper never showed up as promised.
The business owner also claims that after talking to Birdman herself, she discovered that his signature had been forged and he never agreed to appear as stated on signed contracts.
A portion of the lawsuit places blame on another man, Evan St. Clair, who Fuchs claims ficticiously signed  the paperwork under Birdman's name.
"Evan St. Clair requested $50,000 for the participation fee of Birdman. As it turned out, Birdman's own demand for an appearance fee constituted only $35,000, as per plaintiff's conversations with Birdman. Birdman had stated that he never signed the agreements in question, but it appears that the signature on the agreements appear to be not Birdman's, but forged signatures made by Evan St. Clair."
Another man, Andre Cleveland, is also named in the lawsuit.
Fuchs and her company demand $75,000 for fraud and breach of contract.

JCole Clears Up Jay Z's Classic Statement
The saga continues in J. Cole's real life sideline story as he explains to allhiphop.com the statement made by his boss,Jay-Z about Cole World being a classic.
Cole seemed to be slightly disappointed that Jay never mentioned his thoughts about the album to any publication and when in fact the headline was posted, the young Simba realized that the "classic" brand was taken from his own words and not Hov's.
"The story comes from me telling someone what I was told about what [Jay-Z] said. You know what I'm saying? It's not like he did an interview and said it. But if you ask him, I'm sure he'll probably tell you the same thing. But, it was so weird to see that headline."

Teairra Mari Arrested For Drunk Driving

Singer Teairra Mari had a fun night on the town last night but unfortunately never made it home. After leaving an event late last night, she rear ended a vehicle while driving through Beverly Hills, and was later arrested for DUI.  According To TMZ:

Law enforcement sources tell us the 23-year-old actress/singer was driving a silver Infiniti through Beverly Hills around 3:00 AM, when she rear-ended the car in front of her.  Police at the accident scene observed “signs of intoxication” from Teairra — and arrested her for DUI. One person who was at the scene tells TMZ Teairra was “really messed up … she couldn’t even stand.”
And it gets worse … we’re told Teairra didn’t play nice while she was being booked and became “combative” with one of the arresting officers. Sources tell us one cop suffered a “minor cut” to his hand during the incident.
As a result, Mari now faces multiple charges — including DUI and assault on a police officer.
Teairra Mari is still in custody with bail set at $50,000.
Yikes. It’s unfortunate that she was arrested but it definitely could have been far worse. Drinking and driving is not a game.

Amber Rose Is Just About Ready To Give Wiz Khalifa Some Babies...

Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa have been going strong for a while now and she’s absolutely convinced that he’s the one she wants to marry and have kids with. She recently sat down with Global Grind and revealed that she’s just about ready to be a mother, although her career is her priority.
” I want to be a mom really bad. I really want babies. I’ll be 28 in October and my maternal instinct is ready.”
Amber also discussed marriage, rumors & lies that surround her and all the attention she receives.
Amber Rose On Planning To Marry Wiz Khalifa:
We’re definitely going to get married and have babies. Not right now because we’re still busy and we still want to enjoy each other first. We want to go on vacation, travel and just enjoy each other company, but he’s definitely the one. We’re definitely going to lay it down and get it done.

Amber Rose On Rumors and Lies:
Worst thing I read about myself, are the countless rumors that are just made up off the top of someone’s head. They don’t care about my life or my livelihood. They were just like ‘Oh there’s nothing going on in the world, let’s make up something about Amber, post it and everyone in the world believed it.’

Amber Rose On All The Attention:
I do not like attention at all. I don’t like to be out there. It seems like that because the paparazzi follows me and I’ll get photographed, but I’m always kind of like really low key and they just catch me. I always try to go another way so I’m not bothered or out there. I’m really shy.
