50 Cent Gets In Steve Stoute’s Face At A Knicks Game

Yikes! Talk about a picture being worth a thousand words! Two thousand in this case!

During Friday night’s Knicks game, 50 Cent got all up in brand expert Steve Stoute’s face over shade-filled comments Steve made about the rapper earlier in the week.

The run-in stemmed from an interview Steve Stoute did with Hot 97′s Angie Martinez where he discussed who he felt were the top influential rappers and Jay Z, Dr. Dre, Diddy and Kanye West all made his list. Unfortunately, 50 Cent, who had just left record label giant Interscope for an indie label, did not.

When asked why the slight, Steve stated:

He hasn’t had a hit in a really long time. He has not made anything musically that’s changed in a very long time. I feel like he’s always gearing up for something that never happens. Hopefully, now that he’s independent and there’s no record company to blame, his aggressive content will get on the air.

When Angie tried to make a case for 50 by listing his business ventures and deals, Steve continued:

I think that he’s trying to get back. But those guys… music is a great platform. If you’re an entrepreneur, you have… you’re currently active making music, you’re currently active touching people with albums, it makes it much easier to venture into business deals that will become successful using the music to parlay to get it done. And without having music that’s meaningful over the last, probably the last great song he’s made was “I Get Money”? Right? You know how long ago…? Kanye’s put out three albums, four albums since then.

As if all that wasn’t enough, Angie warned Steve that Fif might put him in a song now, to which he replied:

Great! Hopefully IT GETS on the radio!

Damn!

Fif said, “F a song, I’ll just confront him in front of 30,000 people.” Ouch!

50 and Steve Stoute’s history dates back to 2000. At the time, Steve Stoute was head of Columbia Records Urban department and he dropped 50 from the label after he got shot nine times. In an interview with Funkmaster Flex last year, 50 made it clear that he didn’t like Steve when he said, “That’s why I don’t like Steve Stoute. I still don’t like him!” and he explained it had a lot to do with his business practices.

P.S. 50 is on probation after he worked out a plea deal in a domestic violence case with his baby’s mother Daphne Joy last year. Snuffing Steve Stoute at a game would have definitely been a bad idea.
