President Obama did a huge favor for a 5th grader, by penning a note to excuse him from school for the day. The student, Tyler Sullivan, skipped school Friday (June 1) to hear the POTUS speak at a Honeywell plant in Minnesota, alongside his father.
Sullivan got a front-row seat to hear the president's speech, and before leaving he was given the note, "Mr. Ackerman--Please excuse Tyler...he was with me!"
Obama traveled to the Midwest to discuss the state of the economy, following a disappointing job report, released last week. As his re-election campaign picks up steam, the commander in chief is still fending off criticism for his support of gay marriage. Most recently, former President Bill Clinton said in an interview that Obama publicly endorsing same-sex unions may discourage support from black voters.
We won't know the outcome of the election until November, but analyst predict that given his extraordinary ability to raise campaign funds, this year's presidential race will be the most expensive in political history.
