Mike Tyson's tenure on the “Great White Way,” will be helmed by none other than Spike Lee. TMZ is reporting that the acclaimed director has signed on for Tyson's show which will premiere on Broadway sometime this year. The former heavyweight champion first debuted the one-man show in Las Vegas, but wanted to make a few changes to the production.
A source told the website that Lee—whose new film Reed Hook Summer will hit the silver screen in August— is in the final talks to come on board. The show will also be financed by Jimmy Nederlander Jr. The veteran theater mogul owns a bunch of Broadway shows and hopes to bring Tyson's production to audiences by the summer.
Heading to Broadway will add another notch to Tyson's growing performance resume. The 45-year-old tragically lost his daughter in 2009, and has spoken on his renewed view of life, after the tragedy.
