Mary J. Blige is no longer singing about chicken, but that's not stopping the bad press from piling up. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul's charity—the Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation for the Advancement of Women— is the focus of a lawsuit for failing to pay back a $250,000 loan.
Blige reached out to TMZ to explain that the suit, filed by TD Bank,
is a result of bad employees. "As Founder and CEO of FFAWN, I am
ultimately responsible for anything that goes wrong. The problem is that
I didn't have the right people in the right places doing the right
things. This should have never been allowed to happen, but it did and
now we are fixing it," she said.
The 41-year-old, has been doing a lot of apologizing lately, first repenting for the aforementioned chicken ad, and now promising to work "tirelessly" to get her organization back on track.
