Production is underway for the return of Liam Neeson in Taken 2. Neeson will reprise his role as ex CIA agent Bryan Mills who in the first Taken, saved his daughter (Maggie Grace) from Albanian sex traffickers in Paris.
In Taken 2 Mills takes a job in Istanbul. After he
discovers that his wife (Famke Janssen) is going through hard times
with her new husband, he suggests that she and their daughter visit for a
few days. When the father of one of the Albanian kidnappers learns of
the family’s new whereabouts he swears revenge on Mills’ family. Mills
relies on his daughter’s knowledge of the captors to help them thwart
danger and escape to safety. With his family safely hidden, Mills now
focuses on using his particular set of skills to hunt down the bad guys
who wish to harm him.
Information obtained from Entertainment Weekly makes it very clear that the bad guys are going to have their hands full trying to capture Bryan Mills.
The original film surprised the industry collecting $226.8 million worldwide from $25 million in production costs.
Taken 2 is directed by Olivier Megaton and written by Taken’s original writers Robert Mark Kamen and Luc Besson.
Twentieth Century Fox will release Taken 2 in theaters October 5, 2012.
