It looks as though Beyonce has gained a new stepmother! Her father,
Mathew Knowles, has started a new chapter in his life after divorcing
Tina Knowles in December of 2011.
This past weekend, Mathew got hitched in Houston to former model Gena Avery. The wedding ceremony took place on Sunday, the same day as the BET Awards, and could explain why Beyonce did not attend the actual awards show this year, even though she performed as part of the BET Experience on Friday. Her sister Solange was definitely missing in action from the wedding, as she’s currently enjoying a nice vacation with her son in Senegal.
This is Mathew’s second marriage. He was with Tina Knowles for 29 years before fathering a love child with aspiring actress Alexsandra Wright in 2010.
