Rapper
LL Cool J may be an actor, but he can definitely back up those “Mama
Said Knock You Out” rap lyrics with some action. The NCIS: Los Angeles
star, who was born James Todd Smith, got into a violent scuffle with an
intruder who broke into his home early Wednesday morning.
According
to the Los Angeles Times, LL Cool J was sleeping upstairs in his Studio
City, Calif. home when he heard noises and commotion downstairs in the
kitchen. He went to investigate the cause and ended up in a fist fight
with a man who had broken in.
LL, who sometimes trains at the same
MMA gym as Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Jon Jones, reportedly took
down the suspect with a blow to the jaw. He was able to hold down the
burglar until police arrived on the scene. Police said no one besides
the intruder was hurt, and nothing was stolen from the home.
Now that’s how you hold down the fort LL!
A
rep for the actor/rapper said “LL Cool J and his family are safe and
thank everyone for their thoughts and concern. As a father, husband and
citizen, he is committed to keeping his family safe and is cooperating
with authorities on this private matter.”
