Sometimes, news happens that you can't even make up even if you tried. After Lil Wayne said that he isn't too fond of the Empire State, New York State Senator Malcolm Smith is demanding a public apology in Times Square. No, seriously.
Senator Smith will be joined by members of the hip hop youth council
and tourism officials in a press conference being held today August 22,
2012 at 3pm in Times Square after Lil Wayne insulted the city by saying
"I flat out don't like New York."
In a press release from the senator he states:
New York City is the birthplace of the Hip Hop music movement. Millions of New Yorkers listen to his music every day. His comments is outraged his local fans and residents. The group today will be demanding an apology of the hip hop star. Lil Wayne has had misfortune in New York with recent gun charges and a jail sentence.
