Is Spike Lee currently in Atlanta?
Today,
Tyler Perry Studios was the Atlanta firefighters’ destination after
there were reports of a fire at the facility. This morning’s fire is
the second inferno in the past three months at the studios, which is
located on Continental Colony Parkway.
According to Atlanta Journal Constitution:
Fire officials have not released information on Monday’s blaze, but police dispatchers reported that the roof of a building at the complex was on fire. The fire was apparently in a three-story, 100 by 200-foot building. Video from the Channel 2 Action News helicopter showed about two dozen firefighters on the roof of the building, but no smoke showing at 11:30 a.m. It was not immediately known whether the building on fire Monday was the same building that caught fire on May 1. The 200,000-square-foot studio, which opened in 2008, is home to sets, sound stages and a 400-seat theater.
On May 1, over 100
firefighters went to battle with a fire that burnt part of Perry’s
simulated street-scape of the studios, that blaze flamed up to about six
stories into the sky.
Perry’s 200,000-square-foot studio opened its doors in 2008. It has numerous sets, sound stages and a 400-seat theater.
More details on the fire and Spike Lee’s whereabouts coming soon…
