Mayo Clinic Reveals That Jesse Jackson Jr. Is Bi-Polar

Jesse Jackson Jr. is being treated for bi-polar disorder, this according to the Mayor Clinic. Jackson, is receiving treatment for bipolar II depression at the facility located in Rochester, Minn.  The clinic released a statement on his progress Monday (Aug. 13). “Congressman Jackson is responding well to the treatment and regaining his strength,” read the statement.
Although the reasoning behind stepping down from his congressional posts had been kept under wraps for months, Jackson requested that the veil be lifted. “Congressman Jackson has asked Mayo Clinic to distribute this information on his behalf. He and his family remain grateful for support and prayers offered and received on his behalf,” the statement continued.
“Many Americans have bipolar disorder. Bipolar II disorder is a treatable condition that affects parts of the brain controlling emotion, thought and drive and is most likely caused by a complex set of genetic and environmental factors. Congressman Jackson underwent gastric-bypass surgery in 2004. This type of surgery is increasingly common in the U.S. and can change how the body absorbs food, liquids, vitamins, nutrients and medications.”
Jackson's stay at Mayo began on July 25, one month earlier he was receiving treatment at the Sierra Tucson facility in Arizona, which offers help for addiction and mood disorders.
