The Nymphomaniac may end up being one of Shia LaBeouf’s most uninhibited performances yet. The film reportedly calls on the Transformers actor to perform real sex on film.
When
Shia LaBeouf wrote off big-budget blockbusters saying, “There’s no room
for being a visionary in the studio system. It literally cannot exist”
— we didn’t think he had his eye on porn!
Well now it appears
LaBeouf will have all the room he needs to create those visions he was
talking about, and there will be no shortage of visuals for anyone who
happens to indulge in The Nymphomaniac movie.
According to the MTV report, Shia LaBeouf says he is ready to tackle anything writer and director Lars von Trier throws at him.
“It’s
going to be a wild movie. There’s a disclaimer at the top of the script
that basically says we’re doing it [having sex] for real. Everything
that is illegal, we’ll shoot in blurred images. Other than that,
everything is happening.”
The 26-year-old actor accepted the Nymphomaniac role primarily because of von Trier himself, whom Lebeouf says “terrifies” him.
“[Von
Trier is] the most dangerous dude that I’ve ever showed up for. I’m
terrified. I’m so terrified, which is why I have to go. We’ll see what
happens.”
Told from the perspective of her husband, The Nymphomaniac focuses around the erotic adventures of a woman from her teenage years until she turns 50.
The film reportedly also stars Charlotte Gainsbourg and Stellan Skarsgard. Although details about The Nymphomaniac
are still sketchy, Nicole Kidman is rumored to have joined the cast,
while LaBeouf reportedly will play one of Gainsbourg’s lovers in the
film.
MTV also reported that Von Trier plans to release two
versions of the movie, one that is safe for movie theaters and another
more explicit one.
The Nymphomaniac is expected to hit theaters sometime next year.
