Pharrell Williams is giving you classic Neptunes production, circa early 2000s, on Nelly’s latest track, “Get Like Me.” The two fellas, along with Nicki Minaj have teamed up for the summer banger which features the simple, yet very catchy chorus, “All y’all n–gas wanna get like me.” A guarantee win for Pharrell who currently has two singles in Billboards Top 5, including Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines.”
On the track, Nelly gives us a little Ying Yang Twins flavor, by whispering ad-libs throughout the chorus and verses Meanwhile, Nicki, who may very well end up the collab queen of 2013, gets back to the essence of vintage Nicki. She maneuvers through some crazy wordplay, while taking language lessons from Lil Scrappy (I’m the shizzniyee), speaking some French (Bon voyage, Nicki and Baby, Buns Minaj) and showing some blogger love (Some call me Bitchie, so Necole like me).
