The first photos of Liam Hemsworth and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the indie drama Empire State have surfaced.
The
film centers around two childhood friends and a NYPD officer who stands
in the way of them robbing an armored car company of all the money
stored on the premise. Empire State is based on a real life heist that
took place in 1982.
Empire State is currently being
filmed in New York and New Orleans. The caper movie is directed by Dito
Montiel (The Son of No One), who is working from a script written by
Adam Mazer (You Don’t Know Jack). Emmett/Furla Films is producing and
financing the indie film, which will be distributed by Lionsgate.
Hemsworth
and Johnson will be supported by a cast that includes Emma Roberts,
Nikki Reed, Michael Angarano, Chris Diamantopoulos, Jerry Ferrara, and
James Ransone.
