Seattle Man Arrested For Threatening To Kill President Obama Via Email

A man in Washington state has been arrested on suspicion that he threatened to kill President ObamaAnton Caluori was taken from his apartment in South Seattle and transported to jail while authorities investigate claims that he wanted to carry out the assassination. He was found with a gun when authorities entered the unit. “The shotgun was coming up to point in the direction of the agents,” revealed Federal Way police spokesperson, Cathy Schrock. “The two officers were able to close in and take control of the weapon before anyone was harmed.”
An additional weapon, held in an Caluori's ankle holster, was also seized from his possession.
According to Secret Service spokesman, Brian Leary, Caluori also threatened to assault a federal officer.
The 31-year-old sent the threat to a general FBI email, and spoke of having explosives. Authorities evacuated the Panther Ridge Apartments where Caluori lived, in search of bombs, but found nothing.
Caluori's mother—who also lives in the complex— was surprised that her son wanted to kill the commander in chief. “He has a good education, he's a good boy, but he's done a stupid thing,” she said, telling a local TV station that she wasn't privy to much of the details behind her son's arrest. “How would you feel if your son got arrested? Never got arrested, was in the military, has a college education? I'm just a little bit upset and shocked.”
This latest incident isn't the first time the president's life has been threatened. Earlier in the year, police arrested a Virginia man for sending a bomb threat to the White House.
