Vince Young Goes For Broke, Blew $5K A Week At The Cheesecake Factory

When it comes to athletes and money, the two don't always mix. As if the and trials of other NFL players like Terrell Owens wasn't enough of a cautionary tale, former quarterback Vince Young has entered the pool of athletes going for broke, in a major way.
The former quarterback blew through the guaranteed $26 million from his 2006 contract, but the brunt of the money lost wasn't due to women, flashy cars, huge houses, or even jewelry. Instead, food was his downfall...specifically, food at the (clearly addicting) Cheesecake Factory.
Clay Travis put the former Tennessee Titan on blast, via his 3HL radio show on Nashville's WGFX 104.5, where he allowed the public to help detail the bad decisions that depleted Young's bank account. According to callers who served Young, he had a fondness for restaurant chains, frequenting other spots, like T.G.I. Friday's, on the regular. Bartenders who worked at the Nashville location revealed that Young was a regular, and his favorite drink was a melon drop.
His Cheesecake Factory binder allegedly went down during his rookie year, when he'd often pick up the entire tab for his teammates. Young also purchased all but 10 seats on a 2007 Southwest Airlines flight from Nashville to Houston, and after each home football game, he would head to Morton's Steakhouse in the city's downtown area, and throw back $600 shots of Louis XIII.
Young has blamed his financial problems on the “betrayal” of advisors, and hit Twitter to confirm the rumors. “Yes I need a job, who doesn't?” he wrote. “Yes I want to be out there playing the game I love and earning a paycheck, who wouldn't?”
He's also blasted much of what is being reported as “disheartening,” and “untrue,” vowing to rectify his “unfortunate financial losses.”
The struggle is real.
