Timbaland And Keri Hilson To Apologize To Jay-Z and Beyonce on New Track, ‘Sorry’

> MTV's "TRL" at MTV Studios on July 14, 2008 in New York City. Timbaland and Keri Hilson are taking the power away from the rumored gossip in the streets by penning an apology track to Beyonce and Jay-Z, which will appear on Timbaland’s new album, Shock Value III.
Over the past few years, the BeyHive has put Keri through it, accusing her of shading Bey in interviews, subliminal tweets, in photos, and most notably on her 2009 remix of “Turnin’ Me On,” while Timbaland had his own fallen out with Jay-Z over leaked tracks from the Blueprint III album.
During a sit down with Diddy’s Revolt TV, Timbaland revealed:
Me and Jay fell out, I missed his 40th, he didn’t miss mine he did sent me a gift. But I missed his, and it was over petty stuff, it was more personal stuff and disagreements it was not no industry related, it was more personal and I was wrong.
He also teased a few verses from the new apology track, while revealing Keri’s contribution:
My verse I’m saying like, ‘We copped the same Range. We talked to the same dames. Same things, same lane. Now we see each other, don’t even speak… Accept my apology.’ It’s like a Tupac kinda s–t. It’s deep. It’s pretty deep.[...]Keri actually tells a story about the whole Beyonce thing and how she was sorry about it because she really wasn’t talking about Beyonce but other people.
Although Timbaland says that his fallout with Jay wasn’t industry related, Jay told a different story during a sit down with BBC’s Zane Lowe.
He was still on Blueprint 3, but the fallout happened at the end of that album. A couple of songs was getting leaked that was his songs. That whole thing was just like…it just ruined the whole process. I wanted him and Kanye to produce — Kanye was the executive producer of Blueprint III and was like, “Let’s get Tim.” We were all inviting to him, and he just wasn’t accepting of the process. It seemed like it was more about him than the actual album.
When you go in and you make an album, you have to put all ego aside. I’m putting ego aside. Everyone has to put ego aside for the sake of the project. He wasn’t accepting of that. That was almost the last straw type of thing, so we just went our separate ways. After those concerts and he came back, I’d seen a new Timbaland. He had this maturity and this growth. I was like, “Oh, okay, this is gonna work out.
It will be interesting to see how the apology goes over with both Jay-Z and Beyonce fans.
Timbaland is now signed to Roc Nation and worked with Jay-Z again on Magna Carta Holy Grail.
